Just thought some of you may like abit of an update of whats going on at the club!

Of course as most of you know Matt and Blake have been prepin for the CAPO Nationals this weekend - both have been training hard and pushing eachother to train harder each and every week! - Iam very pleased to see both get stronger over the last few months and improve tec and also there training methods...

Johns - 210kg Prowler Challenge

Everyone knows that the Prowler is the most insane piece of conditioning equipment in the world. It brings grown men to their knees, dry heaving at the thought of another set. This challenge is a modified version of Jim Wendler’s favourite Prowler workouts. Safe to say it kicked my ass. The Astroturf in the gym presents a unique challenge.

In January next year PowerSports Club will be running a Gridiron Clinic for some up and coming juniors, through the planning of the clinic I have been thinking to myself how junior athletes should really train to help them perform better at their given sport and it makes me somewhat frustrated to see junior athletes making really bad mistakes in the gym in regards to exercise choice, form and just the general template of their program – or lack there of.

Power of The Prowler

It has been a few years now since I have played rugby, and since then I have always tried to pay attention to my overall conditioning, during my years playing rugby I was always playing at a high intensity and spent alot of time working on my conditioning, if I knew then what I know now then I could easily say that I was very mislead on how to condition yourself as a young athlete. I know now that there are much better tools to use to condition yourself.
