A Crippled Man's Journey into Equipment - Introduction
For those that don't know me my name is John, I'm 21 and up until a few weeks ago I was a rugby player who powerlifted for fun.<!--break-->
That was until I broke my hand in an on field "incident". Shortly after this "incident" I got the chance to buy a Metal Pro squat suit for a very reasonable price. Now that I'm out for at least the rest of this season I plan to spend all the time I can learning this suit with the aim to pull in it at the CAPO deadlift comp and then compete in a full meet next year. I competed in my first full meet at The Battle of the Gyms this year.
My current best lifts are:
Squat 210kg (wraps and belt)
Bench 95kg (still carrying a shoulder injury from earlier in the year)
Deadlift 220kg
Most of my recent training has been based around the westside principles however I have done 5/3/1 with success in the past. As there is very little upper body work I can do most of my training from now on will be based around learning the suit as best I can.
